Gen Bu

One of the Four Symbols of the Chinese cosmology and guardian of the north. The Gen bu represents the north and the winter season. It is also commonly portrayed as a tortoise with a serpent entwined around it. In ancient China, the tortoise and the serpent were thought to be spiritual creatures symbolizing longevity.
